The 23rd International Symposium "Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers" was originally planned for September 2021 in Bari / Italy, but had to be postponed to September/October 2022. The Scientific Board of the symposium decided to organize the: 23rd Symposium "Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers", held September 22-24, 2021, as a virtual symposium.
Dr. Lasse Saaby, Head of Operations at Bioneer:FARMA, will be participating with a 20 min presentation on the elucidation of a possible digoxin-binding site in the substrate-binding pocket of P-glycoprotein. The presentation will be held on September 23rd at 15:25.
In this talk, Lasse will present the efforts to explore the possible existence of a digoxin-binding site different from the putative H- and R-binding sites previously described for P-gp will be presented. This will cover the use of a polarized confluent cell monolayer model over-expressing human P-gp to study interactions between digoxin and known P-gp substrates and inhibitors.
Scientists interested in signaling processes at the neurovascular unit are invited to join the Virtual Symposium "Signal Transduction in the Blood-Brain Barriers". The symposium will be organized in the tradition of the previous meetings of this series, with online lectures and poster presentations, both expected to present new and exciting data.
